Cat and Kitten Toys

Although each cat or kitten has their own preference for play, there is one thing common among all of them–they love a chase and they are natural born predators.  A cat toy that will peak their interest is a toy that will seem to move on it’s own such as plush toys that move around or jump around when a string is pulled within them or a battery operated toy that moves on its own when turned on.  Cats and kittens just naturally love any toy that moves or jumps on its own and they willl play with that toy for a long time trying to catch it or to “kill” it.  Even if they do “catch” that prey, they will most likely let it go for a minute to see if it will move again.  When the toy does move again, the chase is on again!  These kinds of toys are perfect for stocking stuffers during the holidays or anytime and are a must for indoor cats!  First Rate Pets has all kinds of toys for your cat or kitten at very reasonable prices and who can’t appreciate that during these hard times!  And if you have someone in your life who loves cats and kittens, they will appreciate your thoughtfullness at buying their best friend a fun and unique toy!

The Toys Cats Love Most

The Toys Cats Love Most

Let’s face it, cats often aren’t too picky when it comes to toys. In fact, some of the most enjoyable cat toys for a cat might be pieces of string or cardboard boxes. Just like little kids, cats and kittens can have a lot of fun with a wide range of objects, not just those cat toys the manufacturers produce. However, there are a few cat toys only available from retailers that will make cats go crazy. The classic cat fishing pole is one such example. Often a simple rod with a piece of string tied to a fish or mouse, the cat fishing pole is something all cats love to play with, and it’s also a great accessory for owners who want to spend more time with their cats. There is also a wide range of catnip toys, and these are what really make cats go crazy. Catnip is like a natural stimulant for cats, and it often causes them to be hyperactive.

There are all kinds of activities cats and their owners can enjoy with cat toys. Every cat is different though, so some cats might be stimulated by certain toys, while others won’t care about them at all. Be sure to find out entertains the cat the most!

Cat toys with feathers and squeakers

Cats and kittens absolutely love toys they can bat around, hold in their front paws and give them the old back claw attack, and toys that make noise.  It’s just an inborn instinct they have and every cat owner loves watching their little mischief maker have fun playing and running around with toys they bought just for them.  I found a toy that’s perfect for cats that has feathers (which cats also love) but it’s on a springy pole attached to a platform with fun cotton fur.  This way, I don’t have to keep trying to get my cat’s toys out from under the couch or worse, from under the refrigerator!  If you have a cat or kitten, there are so many high quality cat toys made especially for cats so they can burn off that extra energy they always seem to have and to peak their interest in fun and healthy play!

With Christmas time approaching, most people have their hands full figuring out what to buy (and what they want!) for everyone on their shopping list.  Though people come first, it’s nice to remember your beloved cat at Christmas time too.  Here are a few fun ideas for small presents or stocking stuffers for kitties.

~Remote Control Mouse; these are fun for people to drive, and for cats and even dogs to chase around the house.

~Catnip; the classic hyperactive drug for all cats… fun for any occasion.

~Ropes and Danglers; these fun toys often have a feather or a mouse attached to them, and are great for slinking along the ground to have your cat give chase.

Why are Cats Such Great Pets?

cat toys

If you like cats and are not allergic to them, they make wonderful pets for a number of reasons.  For one thing, they are happy in a small apartment or home, and often hang out in one room most of the time.  They are self-sufficient, not minding if you are at work all day, but glad when you are home.  They can also be left alone for several days as long as they have food and water and their litter boxes are relatively clean.

I love cats because of their beauty and independence.  When it comes to personality, no two are alike.  Despite their reputation for not needing anyone, most cats are quite devoted to their people, though many seem to choose one person as their favorite.  Most cats enjoy playing with cat toys until an advanced age, and they are always entertaining to watch, doing silly things unexpectedly and giving their people a good laugh.
